The early stages of motherhood come with a lot of emotion, discomfort, fear and feeling. These sessions are intended to be as simple, quiet and intimate as possible. I like to shoot in your most comfortable setting - this may be your house, or mine, depending on what sets you the most at ease.

We are capturing what I see as a primal connection, and I prioritise shooting skin on skin, baby hairs, all the tiny details that could only be yours.

I am not interested in your prettiest dress, or a fresh head of newly-dyed hair. I don't mind if you forgot to brush your teeth this morning or feel like you ate too much last night.

I want to photograph mothers and their children in their element, true to form, without the pressure of being dolled up and "photo ready". I just want to capture you, your family, and the connections that make you a mother.

Your new body after baby, particularly during these early stages, is an absolute work of art, and that is what I am most looking for when working with new mothers. We’re turning this beautiful life-shift into a keepsake so personal to you that it cannot be replicated.
